Every LTL carrier rates a pallet by its density and freight class, but each one's rules tariff adds its own minimums for light, bulky or no-stack freight. Thirteen classes come straight from density on the 2025 NMFC scale, from class 50 at 50 lb/ft³ or more to class 400 under 1 lb/ft³. Classes 77.5, 110, 150, 200 and 500 are now set only by commodity listings. Each page shows what ships in that class and a worked pallet.
