Fittings are the dense exception: solid molded elbows, couplings and valves in boxes pack tight and rate low, the opposite of the pipe they connect.

Nest, bundle, and manage the length
Nest aggressively — telescope smaller diameters inside larger, then band the nested bundle so nothing slides out in transit. Where diameters can't nest, bundle same-size pipe tightly into hexagonal-packed units that minimize the gaps between rounds. Either way the goal is to fill the bore space and the between-pipe voids that would otherwise ship as billed air.
Length is the constant handling challenge: standard 10- and 20-foot pipe exceeds any pallet footprint and needs pipe racks, carts, or specialized handling, and the terminal has to be able to take it. Keep dense fittings on their own boxed pallets rather than blending them with airy pipe, where their weight is wasted lifting the pipe's blended density only slightly.
